Steve has trained dogs for nearly 40 years. Working from the "Lardy" method, he adapts each dog's training regime to meet its individual needs and personality. Whether your goal is to have a hunting companion or to succeed at the QAA or AA level, the training at Lone Willow Kennel is sure to exceed your expectations. Many of our dogs are able to excel in Amateur and Open field trial stakes.

Steve has qualified many dogs for the National Retriever Club Championship. In 1990 alone, Steve ran 6 dogs at the National Open. He has handled over 70 dogs to the QAA and/or Derby List.

Steve has turned to young dogs for sale as field trail dogs or hunting dog or training hunting dogs since his surgery in 2019.
